Steffen Mischke uses moments of abstract expressionism, various elements of subsequent trends, such as the gestures of the Neue Wilden, and also subcultural art phenomena of the 1980s and 90s. In addition to photographic products, intervening installations as well as ephemeral sculptures in public space, painting is the center of his work.
